The Amazon BDL4 Solar project is a large-scale commercial rooftop solar installation at Amazon's fulfillment center in Windsor, Connecticut. The project makes productive use of the facility's extensive roof area to generate renewable electricity without requiring additional land for a ground-mounted solar development.
The approximately 5.8 MW DC system is installed on the facility's rubber roof and incorporates the solar modules, racking, inverters, AC feeders, and supporting electrical infrastructure necessary for a large commercial installation.
The project also illustrates the distinction between DC solar capacity and AC system capacity. The approximately 5.8 MW figure represents the installed DC capacity of the photovoltaic modules, while publicly reported electrical records may identify a lower AC capacity after the solar energy passes through the inverter system.
Our scope included installation of the solar array, racking system, inverters, AC feeders, supporting electrical systems, and interconnection infrastructure.
